Brother Empey brought up a great point: don't just be a Sunday Mormon. Don't just do it because your parents make you- do it because YOU want to. Pay your tithing because you've been taught to and KNOW you're being blessed for it, go to church because you WANT to, have faith that things will go the way the lord has said they will.
Also, brother Scott gave a lesson to our whole youth about how the lord prepared the America's to be the receiving land of Christs second coming. He talked about Christopher Columbus and his fiery passion- given to him through the holy ghost- to make the trip the the west indies by boat. He said had he not spent 10 years trying to live that passion, he would not have found our country, which all our freedoms would not exist without.
We need to be an active part in our community, know what's going on politically so that we can choose the most wise and just man to lead our country. Tough times are coming, but we can't lose faith in Him- this is all part of his plan and we need to hold strong to the iron rod.
I believe I am NOT just a Sunday Mormon. Are you?
